Context
The design context for Solar Slice involved creating an intuitive and accessible platform that democratizes renewable energy investments. The goal was to develop a user-friendly mobile app that allows users to purchase affordable "slices" of commercial solar farms, track real-time performance and energy generation, and provide clear and transparent metrics that make the investment process simple and engaging for all users. The design needed to cater to both technical and non-technical users, ensuring that anyone can easily participate and benefit from renewable energy investments.
Solution
Solar Slice developed a mobile app that enables users to purchase affordable 50W slices of commercial solar farms. The app provides real-time performance tracking, transparent reporting on energy generation, and an accessible investment platform that lowers financial barriers and simplifies the renewable energy investment process for a broad audience.
Global solar investments reached $148.6 billion in 2020, with continued growth expected.

Learnings
As a Product Designer and Design System Manager, this project allowed me to explore areas outside my usual scope, specifically in branding and identity design. I took on the challenge of creating an engaging, modern, and catchy brand that is now set to be tested in the US market.
